I saw your real estate post.  In real estate the trick is to appeal to everyone who might be searching in your area, including the 90% of the people who don't use RSS readers.  Many of the social networking / blogging techniques that are so well represented by you, Darren Rowse, and others, are great insofar as your market is the universe of the fellow keyboard-bound, which includes a fair portion of Realtors.  I haven't found them very effective in selling real estate however.</description>
